masterclass and cake break time

We're looking forward to hearing performances from Eleanor, Eden and Natasha and sharing everyone's musical ideas at this afternoon's virtual masterclass. It's also fun to share our cake ideas! This week's recipe is from Eden, who says she found these a great snack, not too filling or sweet :)

Eden's Simple Sablé Biscuits

MAKES

20-30 biscuits

INGREDIENTS

  • 200g soft flour

  • 150g butter, cut into small cubes

  • 100g icing sugar

  • Pinch of salt

  • 2 egg yolks

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/Gas 4.

  2. Mix together the flour, butter and sugar until you have the texture of breadcrumbs. This can be done by hand with your fingertips or in a food processor.

  3. Add the salt and mix in the egg yolks and knead into a dough.

  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of ½cm and stamp out biscuits with a 5cm cookie cutter. Place the biscuits on a non-stick baking sheet, spaced 2cm apart, and bake for about 20 minutes, until they are just starting to brown.
